SOLAS chose to use a pragmatic approach with a continually-evolving 2-year implementation strategy, which makes the document a moving target that is annually updated.

If you have a funded research project within the science areas defined in the SOLAS Science Plan, you can ask for SOLAS project endorsement.

If your research proposal falls within the science areas defined in the SOLAS Science Plan, you can ask for a letter of support from SOLAS to add to your proposal.

SOLAS sponsors or co-sponsors long-standing Activities, new Initiatives, and Projects.

Sponsoring or co-sponsoring requires implementation and facilitation of SOLAS scientific research themes, as well as events that are related to SOLAS science. Therefore, SOLAS collaborates with other scientific organisations.

Related Science

SOLAS collaborates with a variety of other scientific organisations.

These collaborations are on both, short topical projects (for example with the Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) working groups) and larger global and regional projects and events.
